Healthcare for Homeless at Unity 

We offer quality health care services at shelters in the District for our most vulnerable population, people experiencing homelessness. We started this work over 30 years ago and are dedicated to continuing to offer this much needed service to our community. Opioid Recovery Program

Unity providers are committed to helping our patients who may be battling opioid addiction. MAT is a treatment program for opioid addiction with Buprenorphine (Suboxone), support groups, counseling, peer support, and case management are also offered through this program. Our Teen Clinic is a safe, friendly, and comfortable place for teens to get healthcare. The Teen Clinic is at our Parkside Health Center. Unity staff at our Teen Clinic love working with teens and young adults and will listen to you about any of your health concerns.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy Test

All Unity locations offer pregnancy testing and counseling about pregnancy options. Pregnancy test visits can be scheduled appointments or same-day walk-in visits. Starting prenatal care as soon as possible can improve the health of both mother and baby.

Pregnancy testing and prenatal care are available regardless of your ability to pay or insurance status.

PrEP at Unity

What is PrEP?

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is a highly effective method of preventing HIV. It is a medication that can be taken to prevent contracting HIV. It’s about 99% effective in preventing HIV when taken every day and can be used by anyone who is having sex regardless of their gender identity (male, female, transgender, non-binary, etc.) and sexual orientation (heterosexual, bisexual, gay, etc.).

It can also be used by people who inject drugs and pregnant women.

WIC

WIC Program

WIC is a health and nutrition program that helps families by providing nutrition education, healthy supplemental foods, and making referrals to healthcare and community services.

You may qualify to receive free food and nutrition counseling if you are pregnant, postpartum, or have a child ages 0-5.
