Aubreya Wise

My name is Aubreya Wise, and I have been working as a medical assistant since 2009, a career that has truly shaped my passion for helping others and serving my community. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Trinity Washington University through Unity’s MA to BSN program, as I continue growing both personally and professionally in the healthcare field. This journey has allowed me to deepen my knowledge, strengthen my skills, and stay committed to providing compassionate, patient-cantered care. Outside of my professional journey, I enjoy traveling, reading, and making meaningful memories with my daughters, who inspire and motivate me every day and push me to be the best version of myself.

Melinda Wise

I was born and raised in Washington, DC, and I am a single mother of two beautiful children, currently residing in Prince George’s County, Maryland. I graduated from Spingarn Senior High School and continued my education by earning my Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certifications from Applied Career Training in Rosslyn, Virginia. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. Upon graduation, I plan to continue my career with Unity Health Care, where we work every day to make a meaningful difference in a patient’s life. In my free time, I enjoy listening to poetry, spending quality time with family, and traveling. When I’m not working, you can usually find me doing one of these three things. Music truly soothes my soul—I can listen to gospel or oldies for hours. One day, I hope to own an RV so I can travel the country one state at a time, just me and my dog, KYN.

Shawntye Frazier

I’m Shawntye Frazier, a woman who blends strength, compassion, and precision in everything I do. My foundation in healthcare as a medical assistant shaped me into someone who leads with empathy, protects with vigilance, and moves with purpose. Whether that’s advocating for patients, improving systems, or supporting those I love.  Currently, I am enrolled at Trinity University, pursuing my BSN.  Above all, I am a proud mother. My two daughters are strong, stylish, confident women, and watching them grow has been my greatest honor. Now stepping into grandmotherhood, my heart is expanding in ways I never imagined. Family is my why. I love deeply, I prepare intentionally, and I show up fully, every time.

Tamara McIntosh

I’m a long-time DMV resident and currently work as a Medical Assistant. I’m passionate about becoming a nurse so I can give back to my community, especially underserved populations, with dedication, compassion, and resilience. I’m currently attending Trinity Washington University, where I’m pursuing the MA-to-BSN program. I take pride in caring for my patients with integrity and commitment, and I value the trust they place in me. Outside of work and school, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, camping, traveling, being outdoors, brunching, shopping, and time with my three beautiful children. After completing the program, I look forward to returning to my colleagues and patients who have supported me along the way. I also hope to get back to hobbies like traveling and dance/fitness.

Tiffany Miller

I was born and raised in Washington, DC. I graduated from a southeast DC high school.  I have been a Medical Assistant for 10 years, and I have been with Unity now for about 4 years. I am mainly stationed at the Anacostia location, and I am not new to this area. I started in the nursing field in 2010 as a CNA and worked my way up to PCT at a large hospital and now here I am on this journey to be an RN. I like helping people by not adding to their stress of coming to the doctor’s office.  I work very closely with the pediatrician here at Unity and I manage the vaccines here at the site that I am mainly assigned to. I like showing my skills and growth through my work. I take on new tasks daily and enjoy the work that I do. Outside of work I like to spend time with family and my favorite place to go is to the beach or any place with water. I like working at Unity because I like the dedication, care, compassion, and understanding that is shown for the patients.

Valencia Bryant

At a very young age, I was taught to help who you can and pray for the rest, do good and you'll feel good, and to always be faithful in all that you do (my father's twist on Semper Fi). I've tried to live my life by those words, and I think they're working in my favour. I was born at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. My family and I moved to Massachusetts when I was in elementary school, then relocated to North Carolina, which is where I graduated from Needham Broughton High School. After graduation, we returned to Maryland. There, I attended TESST Technical College and received my Registered Medical Assistant certification.

I've had the privilege of working with some of the best providers and medical staff across the DMV area, and I decided to make Unity my home about five years ago. The amount of care and compassion Unity shows to their patients just felt right, and it mirrored the love I have for all humankind. By profession, I am a Paediatric MA. Outside of that life, I'm a mom to a five-year-old Labrador retriever. I have a huge family, so much of my free time is family time, we cook, eat, and laugh. My goal is to earn my master’s degree and teach the fundamentals of nursing. I’m currently enrolled in the BSN program at Trinity University, thanks to my hard work and an amazing opportunity provided by Unity and the Bedford Falls Foundation. My hope is that, as I accomplish what I can, I am able to help someone in their journey—just like those who have helped me.
