Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

DEI and TWC-NFMR DC

The Wright Center National Family Medicine Residency Program in DC both recognizes and embraces the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. We are committed to ensuring that we welcome a racially, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse residency class each year, with physicians who share in our passion for serving underserved communities of color.

As such, we have prioritized recruiting both applicants underrepresented in medicine and allies with a commitment to decreasing health disparities in the workforce and in patient care. We do not take lightly the importance of our patients having physicians caring for them who look like them and can identify with their unique needs.

We also recognize the impact that is having a diverse residency program can have on the well-being and happiness of residents while going through their training. If you join our residency family, you can be assured that you will find a place where you can feel completely welcomed and accepted, included, valued for your unique differences, and genuinely cared for, regardless of who you are or where you come from.

In order to further highlight these efforts, we invite applicants with a strong interest in learning more about our program’s commitment to diversity to attend one of our “Diversity Days” to meet with faculty from Underrepresented Minority backgrounds: email cedillosk@thewrightcenter.org to inquire.
