Behavioral Health

Unity Health's Behavioral Health services deliver comprehensive mental health, behavioral health, and psychiatric care with a personal touch. Our expert team supports your journey to well-being through counseling, therapy, and specialized treatments for all ages.

Unity’s Behavioral Health Programs aim to support patients’ mental health and well-being as part of a holistic approach to physical health using an integrated approach.

Integrated Behavioral Health

The integrated behavioral health model connects primary medical and behavioral health clinicians together to collaborate with each other and their patients to:

Address behavioral health factors that affect health and well-being, while reducing the stigma of seeking behavioral health services; expand patient access to behavioral health services through evidence-based interventions and improved team communication; and improve quality of treatment for common mental health conditions (depression, anxiety) using measurement-based care.

Opioid Recovery Program

Unity’s Opioid Recovery Program helps people with opioid use disorder through medication assisted treatment (MAT) with buprenorphine or naltrexone to prevent painful withdrawal symptoms and reduce the urge to use. Peer recovery support, individual counseling, harm reduction, and case management are also offered through this program. As of May 2021, we offer open access (no appointment necessary) to MAT treatment at East of the River Health Center.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment at DOC

In coordination with the Department of Corrections (DOC), Unity provides comprehensive, evidence-based Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) to DOC residents, staffing and operating both a women’s and a men’s unit. Peer support and addiction counseling is provided, as well as care coordination upon discharge to keep patients engaged in substance use treatment within the community. Naloxone distribution and training for staff, officers, and residents.
