Unity's Pop-up Movie Night Family FUNdraiser!
The COVID-19 pandemic has been an unimaginable challenge for our health care heroes, our patients, our families and well – THE WORLD! However, it has also created a climate of creativity and innovation.
Unity’s debut Pop-up Movie Night Family FUNdraiser allows attendees to be socially responsible and practice spatial distancing, while enjoying fun, family friendly entertainment. Best of all, it helps us work together to raise essential funds to continue Unity’s mission to promote healthier communities which is more important now than EVER! We are thrilled to present to you this exciting new way to support Unity’s life-saving mission.

East of the River Steelband
With the vision of Dr. Gladys Whitworth Bray, the East of the River Steelband was founded in 1993 to bring this unique, cultural, and musical experience to youth living east of the Anacostia River. Over the years, the program has provided music training and arts and cultural education to hundreds of children and youth through its core steel pan and youth development programs.
Dinner and a Movie
Trying to remember to bring everything? All you need are your family, friends and kids! Food trucks will be onsite all night long providing you with kid-friendly snacks, appetizers, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages. Help Families in Need
Every winter our homeless and low income patients struggle to stay warm. During this time our patients turn to us for warm coats, hats, scarves, gloves, socks and shoes.
Our goal is to fill our HealthMobile with warm winter coats and accessories. How many families can we keep warm this winter?
On the night of the event, we will be accepting the following items (due to COVID-19, NEW items only, please!):
- Coats - all sizes, for all genders (especially men's XL and up)
- Socks (above the ankle)
- Rubber-soled sneakers and waterproof Winter Boots
