In the summer of 2018, our Upper Cardozo Health Center was chosen as a site for MuralsDC, a program administered by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Department of Public Works (DPW). Cita Sadeli CHE LOVE, an accomplished illustrator and designer was commissioned to design a mural reflective of the unique culture of the Columbia Heights neighborhood and patients who seek healthcare services and programs at our Upper Cardozo Health Center.
The mural is a reflection of Unity’s commitment to serving every resident of DC. Our patients reflect the heartbeat of the neighborhood and our dedication to provide a true safe space to receive primary and specialty care, wellness and prevention programs, and social services. At Unity, our health centers are a place where ALL patients are welcomed and encouraged to build healthier lives and communities.
The artist, Cita Sadeli CHE LOVE, designed the mural “to capture a vision and feeling of dignity, hope, new beginnings and mindfulness."
Special thanks to the generous support of the Department of Public Works. Learn more about MuralsDC at www.muralsdcproject.com.
