NEW PHARMACY TO SERVE D.C. HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE MEMBERS IN NW, DC

Unity Health Care, Inc., the DC Healthcare Alliance partner responsible for operating eleven of the primary care facilities and all the pharmacies that serve members of the Alliance, today opened the seventh DC Healthcare Alliance pharmacy. Located at its Upper Cardozo Health Center, 3020 14th Street, NW, Washington DC, 20009, this pharmacy will help provide even better and faster service to the close to 28,000 Alliance members in need of prescription drugs. The pharmacy at Upper Cardozo will operate the same schedule as the Health Center: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

This new pharmacy, open to all DC Healthcare Alliance members, will benefit mostly those in the Northwest quadrant of the city who until now have had only one pharmacy in the area located at the Walker-Jones Health Center. “This new pharmacy is closer to many health centers in the Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan area, that before had to send their Alliance patients to our Walker-Jones Health Center, NW pharmacy for their prescription drugs,” said Vincent A. Keane, CEO of Unity Health Care. “It has always been our goal to provide service close to where people live, and this new pharmacy will allow us to do precisely that,” Keane added.

The other six DC Healthcare Alliance pharmacies are located at:

Since the inception of the DC Healthcare Alliance in July 2001, more than 200,000 prescriptions have been filled, at no cost to the more than 10,000 members who visit Alliance sites each month for primary and specialty care, and who have made more than 15,000 visits to emergency rooms in the District of Columbia.
