About Project ORION

Operating since September 2001, Unity’s Project ORION provides free confidential/anonymous services to the District of Columbia's hard-to-reach populations. Project ORION provides education and counseling services for substance abuse, as well as, intake for treatment through both long and short-term medical detoxification programs. In addition, Project ORION reaches out to the community by identifying/educating and advocating for methods to prevent HIV/AIDS, STDs, Hepatitis B & C, tuberculosis, as well as, providing quality primary medical care and case management services. The Project ORION Mobile Medical Outreach Van operates in collaboration with the DC Department of Health’s Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA).

The mobile medical outreach van is available to the community on the following schedule:

Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Thursday, 2:00 to 8:00 PM

Friday - the van returns to past sites to distribute patient test results, as well as, to participate in special events (i.e., Health Fairs, counseling/testing, etc.)
