Jesse Belmont Barber, Jr. M.D. died September 21, 2002.  Dr. Barber was the founder of Health Care for the Homeless Project Inc, the precursor of Unity Health Care Inc.  He was a tireless advocate for the medically underserved, and the health care lives of many people in Washington, D.C. today are better off because of the vision and hard work of Dr. Barber.  All of us at Unity Health Care are committed to the vision that he fostered and the best testimony we can provide for him is to continue his advocacy on behalf of those who lack access to health care, and to work tirelessly to provide them with high quality health care which is the right of every American. Dr. Barber, is father of Charles Barber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Unity Health Care, and of Jesse Barber, Information Technology consultant for Unity."
